I am back blogging!! My blog are so dusty,so long never update le.Yah ... yesterday was my birthday "Happy Birthday to myself" , but i was very tired.Just to shared with u guys wat happened during this period.On the 19 May our team represented SHATEC to MM Hotel for a briefing and collecting of our MLA Black Box Competition ingredients and to plan a 3 course Menu consist of a appetizer,a main course and a dessert using the ingredients in the Box provided by the few sponsors.And it was in the evening just before we end the whole briefing.Then,we quickly rushed to suntec CF to buy all the under portion ingredients and went back to school to do our (MISE EN PLACE) preparation/getting ready (french word).So by the time we reached the school,it was already 9pm +.We seat down with our team manager and started to plan work plan on who is doing what.Basically i was in charge of the appetizer course.And we did all the cutting,marinating,braising etc .... through out the whole night all the way to morning 10am+.We thought we could have some sleep and take shower in school.But it was a very tiring process.We never sleep for the whole day.As this competition not only to prepared 3 portions to judging,photograph and presentation....we had to do another 22 portions for he gala dinner the next day.So i have to packed lot's and lots of ingredients,cooked and uncooked before 12pm.As we have to be in the hotel by 2pm to set up our U shape table.So by the time we reached there it was 12 pm+ and i even have no time to get changed to our uniform for the competition.Then,i reached MM Hotel,I rushed to the gents and get myself changed and brush my teeth in the toilet....lollolo ... is like we are very rushed lor.... So we went to the Ball room to set up all of our equipments and plates etc.... lot of work involved.So we went through the judging and feedback was great as my service side trainer said that we are very clam during the judging compare to other hotels.So we had a break after the judging and back again to prepare foe the 22 portions to served to the invited guest.... Lastly, during the award presentation.... we got an silver award. I was really very happy ... as i never expected to get a silver.wat in my mind was to make sure i served and perform well tat all .... thanks to all chef in my school for the help and support during our hard time....thanks chefs cheers!
